David selected as an Innovate UK ICURe Entrepreneurial Lead
David has won a competitive place as an Entrepreneurial Lead on ICURe Discover, the UKRI-funded Innovate UK programme that helps researchers explore the commercial potential of their work.

As of 24 September 2026, David is an Entrepreneurial Lead on the Innovate UK ICURe Discover programme.
ICURe (Innovation-to-Commercialisation of University Research) is funded by UK Research and Innovation and run by Innovate UK Business Connect. Places are competitive. Discover is a part-time market discovery programme: after a bootcamp with commercialisation experts, each Entrepreneurial Lead spends the following weeks speaking with companies, clinicians, investors and other potential users to test whether an idea from the lab could make a difference beyond it. Teams can then apply for ICURe Explore, the programme’s next stage.
It is a natural fit for the group. David spent a year in R&D at GlaxoSmithKline, holds three US patent applications, and has long wanted our work on viruses and RNA to reach patients and industry. If you work in biotech or pharma and would like to talk, get in touch.
