David appointed UK Ambassador for the ERC
David is one of 32 ERC grantees chosen for the new Ambassadors for the ERC network, representing the United Kingdom as an advocate for frontier research.
On 28 April 2025, the European Research Council and the Association of ERC Grantees launched the Ambassadors for the ERC network, and David was appointed as the ambassador for the United Kingdom.
The 32 ambassadors come from 21 EU Member States and five Associated Countries. Their role is to make the case for investment in frontier research and to explain how it benefits the economy and society, working with policymakers, the media and research communities.
The ERC Starting Grant founded The Courtney Group in 2021, so this is a cause close to our hearts.
