Talking viruses and handwashing at the Balmoral Show
Members of the lab joined the Queen's University Belfast stand at the Balmoral Show to talk to visitors about the viruses that make us sick and why washing our hands matters.
On 15 May 2025 members of the lab spent the day on the Queen’s University Belfast stand at the Balmoral Show, Northern Ireland’s biggest agricultural show.
We talked to visitors of all ages about the viruses that make us sick, how they spread, and why something as simple as washing your hands makes such a difference. Younger visitors got stuck in with the craft table and drew their own viruses, and the colourful results ended up decorating the front of the stand.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by for a chat.
