Dr Hannah Turkington awarded a BBSRC Postdoctoral Fellowship
Hannah has won a BBSRC Postdoctoral Fellowship to study how influenza vRNPs are trafficked in the animals that act as important reservoirs of flu. A very nice Christmas present.

Just in time for Christmas, Dr Hannah Turkington has been awarded a BBSRC Postdoctoral Fellowship.
Influenza A viruses circulate in birds and other animals, and these zoonotic reservoirs are where new pandemic strains can come from. Hannah’s fellowship will look at how the virus’s genome, packaged as viral ribonucleoproteins (vRNPs), is trafficked through cells from these important reservoir hosts.
This is a big achievement and a well-deserved one. A huge congratulations to Hannah, and a very Merry Christmas from the whole lab! 🎄
